With lovely furnishings, personal touches, and manicured garden, Casa del Puente is for those people looking for something a little bit more special. Located in the southeast corner of Roche, it is just 25 metres to the pine forest with its lovely walks, 700m from Roche’s amenities (shop, bars, playground and tennis courts), and 1km from the beach.
“Special” is certainly the word that best describes the property. Its comfortable furniture, books, paintings, and various objets d’art are not what one normally expects to find in a beach house. These all make for a cosy property in the cooler months; while in the summer months, the double terrace (eating and lounging), with views across the large pool and beautifully-kept garden, will probably persuade you to spend less time on the beach than you would do normally! In our view, this property is a joyita (little jewel): a clever mix of rustic and modern, of functionality and atmosphere. “Taste” is a personal thing; but there are few who will fail to enjoy what the artist-owner has created here!
There is a good-size garden (1,000sqm approx), and plenty of lawn for games. And the L-shaped pool is ideal for swimming as well as paddling. All of this is visible from the two (adjoining) terraces; one with a dining table for 10, and the other with deep comfy sofas for long siestas. Both terraces have awnings for protection from the midday sun. The house was extended a few years ago, and the modern extension includes the main suite (large bedroom and luxury bathroom and dressing room) and a small studio for painting. As a result, the house is also now L-shaped, with the main terrace nestling comfortably into its corner. The well-pruned pine trees ensure just the right amount of sun and shade, and produce a wonderful dappled light towards the end of the day.
Accommodation at Casa del Puente is on one floor:
The front door takes you into the original part of the house, with a modern, fully-fitted kitchen on your left (with extra-large fridge), and the living area on your right. This has comfortable sofas and armchairs, with a fireplace at one end and a small dining table (sits 6 comfortably) at the other. Paintings and books abound, and there are also several nice pieces of furniture. The living room opens onto the eating terrace at one end and onto the passageway that leads to the bedrooms on the other. The bedroom wing contains a twin and a double, which share a nice bathroom, with large walk-in shower and traditional Andaluz wall tiles. At the end of passage, there is a large single bedroom (which can be converted into a twin) with its own bathroom (this one with a modern walk-in shower). Beyond this, the passage opens on to a small studio (used by the owner for painting), which connects the house to the extension, home to the fabulous main suite. This contains a large bedroom, with large double bed (plus an extra single), along with a big dressing room and luxury bathroom with another lovely walk-in shower. The far wall of the bedroom is mostly glass, with a large sliding door onto the garden beyond.
