The main bedroom has a sea view from its terrace, and with the beach just 200 metres away you will hear the waves at night from the whole house. So Las Terrazas is a proper beach house! It is also tastefully decorated, and the garden is ideal for families looking for both space to play and a selection of shaded areas for sitting. At the end of the road, you have the choice of two beaches: the main Roche beach (all 8km of it) or the little cove, Cala Encendida.
One of the things we like most about Las Terrazas is the combination of comfy living areas both inside and out, and the choice of terraces; hence the name! There is a main covered terrace with sliding doors and views across the garden to the pool, and this contains a nice sitting area and a good outdoor dining table. Walk through the double doors into the house and you have a similar, but more formal set-up indoors, with an open-plan sitting/dining room. The sitting room has large soft sofas and a nice fireplace. A really inviting area, it makes Las Terrazas a good option for those looking to visit off-season. There is then a third sitting area under a pergola in the corner of the garden. This too looks across the lawn to the pool, and enjoys the best of the light on long summer evenings. There is a breakfast terrace too, facing southeast. Looking at the olive tree in the entrance and with a large buganvilla providing some nice dappled shade, it makes the ideal spot for extended holiday breakfasts. And last, but not least, the tiny terrace outside the main bedroom on the first floor. Big enough for Mum and Dad and a couple of glasses, it has a lovely view of the sunset over the Atlantic!
But of course Las Terrazas is not just terraces; built on two floors, there are 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms, and the house will sleep nine if the bunk bed in the children’s room is used. The front door leads straight into the main living area via a small hall with an attractive staircase on the right. And the living area is made up of a sizeable sitting room and a smaller dining area, both of which are tastefully decorated in creams and pastels. The kitchen is to your left and there is a back door that opens onto the breakfast terrace and the outdoor utility room. The ground floor bedroom wing contains two bedrooms, which share a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has twin beds and gets the morning light; the other is ideal for children, with a single bed and a bunk bed, and it looks over the garden and pool. Upstairs is the main suite, with a small view of the sea from the bed and a good view from its little terrace. The fourth bedroom (with en suite bathroom) forms part of the main house but needs to be accessed from the garden. This was recently converted and the twin (or double) bed has a lovely view to the pool.
The house is located 200 metres from the beach (with access on to the main Roche beach and also on to a more protected cove). It is a short walk (500m) to the local shop, pharmacy, bar, and children’s playground. Roche also has its own tennis courts and five-a-side football pitches and a couple of bars. In the summer months, there are several beach bars/restaurants to choose from, and within a 5-10 minute drive you have a larger selection of places to eat all year round. The area offers an endless list of activities, information on many of which you will find here on our website and on our Facebook page.
