Aguadulce
For many weeks of the year the beach at the bottom of the garden is virtually “yours”! And the section of cliff next to it, with its little paths and covered in wild juniper, rosemary, and baby palms, is just for you and your two neighbours. It is a very privileged spot! If you add to this the heated pool, seaviews from every terrace, the immaculately kept garden, and a house with all the creature comforts you might want from a holiday home, Aguadulce is pretty much as good as it gets!
It was built just 8 years ago at the same time as its next door twin, Aguasalá. Like its neighbour, it is positioned perpendicular to the coast and nestles into the gentle gradient of the low cliffs. The house is on two floors, with all but one of the bedrooms on the top floor and the living area and kitchen on the floor below. The large living area (150m2) is divided into a sitting area, TV area, dining area, and kitchen. The decoration is modern, designer, and high-quality. Earthy browns and sandy beiges dominate in the form of huge ceramic floor tiles and a large sumptuous sofa, and the splashes of colour come from the modern art on the walls. Like the view, everything is big and beautiful! There is a choice of terraces: the protected eating terrace, with its barbecue area and easy access from the kitchen; the main terrace, accessed from the living area and running on to the garden and pool (this can be heated to take the chill off in early and late season!) ; and then the stunning first floor deck with extensive views over the beach and cliff. Lounge here with your chilled fino while you watch the sun melt over the horizon through the glass and stainless steel guardrail, and you can be forgiven for thinking you are on a luxury yacht!
The 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms (4 en suite) are divided into three zones. There is a double bedroom (with bathroom) on the ground floor. And the other 5 are on the first floor, Bedrooms 1 and 2 with sea views, and the remaining three with views of the garden. This has been beautifully landscaped with a focus on Mediterranean plants that require little water. There is a fabulous selection of succulents and hardy herbs and several stunning species of palm. The wooden path at the end of the garden takes you down the short walk (30m) to the gate onto the beach, or you can keep going and stroll around your own section of semi-private clifftop and its wonderful selection of flora (iris, orchids, lentisks, and junipers).
A walk of about 1km will take us to the local shop, pharmacy, a couple of bars and restaurants, and childrens’ playground. Roche also has its own tennis and padel courts and five-a-side football pitches. In the summer months, there are several beach bars/restaurants to choose from within walking distance, some of which are now staying open all year. A 5-minute drive will then provide you with a far larger selection of both bars and restaurants. The area offers an endless list of activities, information on which you will find here on our website, our Instagram and on our Facebook page. And if you book with us, we provide you with detailed information on all our recommendations, details on local amenities, and our up-to-date guide to the best of everything! You could spend a wonderful holiday here without a car, and just hire bikes; but, assuming you will have a car, it’s 15 minutes to Conil, 20 minutes to the hill-top village of Vejer, 30 minutes to Cadiz, 40 minutes to Tarifa and Jerez, and 90 minutes to Seville, all of which are well worth visiting.
