Luz y Pinos
Luz y Pinos is the result of one of the most impressive refurbishments in Roche. As its name suggests, the light and the surrounding pines are a main feature, but so too are space, luxury, and the seamless fusion of the different living spaces: the living area with the dining area and kitchen; the terrace with the pool; and the bedrooms with their fabulous bathrooms. Its 300m2 plus large basement for games and roof terrace for evening drinks makes Luz y Pinos an extremely generous 4 bedroom house. But it’s not just the space, the finishing and appliances are all of the finest quality too: from the kitchen designed by Kubic Marbella to the handmade tiles in the bathrooms, the natural stone floors in the showers, and the walnut finishing throughout.
The house is built on two floors, with a basement and also a lovely roof terrace with sea views. The ground floor is home to the open-plan living area (sitting room, dining area, and kitchen), where light and space abound. The look is clean straight lines and fine quality. Large comfortable sofas, long horizontal and vertical windows strategically placed to enjoy the pines, and a giant plasma TV. A very cool free-standing fireplace separates the living area from the eating/kitchen area, where the minimalist brief continues; if it weren’t for the gas rings, you wouldn’t know the kitchen were there! White tops and cupboards, glass on two sides, and green pines and blue sky. The shaded terrace provides more than enough room for a comfy sitting area and eating area, and below a beautiful pool (it’s an abrupt drop down to the water, so this is not a house for small children!)
There is one bedroom and en suite bathroom on the ground floor, with its own small terrace, and the other three bedrooms are on the first floor, all with their own bathrooms en suite, but two share a WC. All bedrooms are large and have their own private terraces (the main bedroom has a sea view). Two have large double beds (1.60m) and two have single beds, all with beautiful hand-crafted bedheads, and there is plenty of built-in wardrobe space. And the showers are to die for: limestone floors, handmade Andaluz tiles, and pivotal glass doors.
The roof terrace is accessed from the main bedroom’s terrace and it has 360º views that take in the sea to the west and Vejer-de-la-Frontera and the Sierra de Cádiz to the south and east. The large basement contains the washroom and ping pong table.
A walk of about 300m will take us to the local shop, pharmacy, a couple of bars and restaurants, and childrens’ playground. Roche also has its own tennis and padel courts and five-a-side football pitches. In the summer months, there are several beach bars/restaurants to choose from within walking distance, some of which are now staying open all year. A 5-minute drive will then provide you with a far larger selection of both bars and restaurants. The area offers an endless list of activities, information on which you will find here on our website, our Instagram and on our Facebook page. And if you book with us, we provide you with detailed information on all our recommendations, details on local amenities, and our up-to-date guide to the best of everything! You could spend a wonderful holiday here without a car, and just hire bikes; but, assuming you will have a car, it’s 15 minutes to Conil, 20 minutes to the hill-top village of Vejer, 30 minutes to Cadiz, 40 minutes to Tarifa and Jerez, and 90 minutes to Seville, all of which are well worth visiting.
