Back in wintery Melbourne now, but memories of charming Roche and the magical Casa Espana are still fresh. The house was perfect to accommodate our group of 6 adults with everyone having their own space. The house itself was beautifully presented with the owners own touches but it made you feel as if you were being welcomed into an old friends house. All facilities were excellent, although we spent most of the time outdoors at the large table under cover of the porch or lazing by the fantastic pool.
The beach was literally at the end of the road and was perfect for long morning walks and sunbathing till almost 9 at night.
Roche is quite sleepy and residential (in comparison to some of the more built up towns nearby) which is what makes it so special, but there are many places and things to do within a quick drive. Although, it was World Cup time when we were there, and the little bar in town was still going strong well into the early hours.
The nearby hill town of Vejer de la Fronterra was particularly stunning and we had a memorable Morrocan meal on our last night in Spain.
I would have loved to have travelled down the coast and hopped over to Morrocco, but our stay was all too brief. All the more reason to come back.
